no. 9・Barefoot Living
When was the last time you kicked off of your shoes and grounded yourself with a walk in a park, on the beach or somewhere else? And more importantly how did you feel? There might be something there is so appealing about being barefoot on a beach for the most of us.
Cultural differences
If you live in the USA the most restaurants might require that you wear shoes to be served, while you are obligated to take your shoes off before entering a home in Japan. These cultural differences are very interesting, just like the benefits of going barefoot. When we walk barefoot on grass it is a lovely way to connect with nature - some call this grounding or earthing.
We have a lot of nerve endings in out feet and many of the people who practise grounding are experiencing both physical and mental health benefits from doing so.
The happy heart runs with the river, floats on the air, lifts to the music, soars with the eagle, hopes with the prayer. - Maya Angelou
A book for your coffeetable
We will delve more into this philosophy and make it a journey of reconnection with nature and ourselves. If you want to learn more about the concept, Natalia Swarz explores living barefoot in her book BAREFOOT LIVING. A book about her personal lens and the way she are going to destinations, where she has found herself living her best unrushed life. The book will inspire you to live more mindful, starting with your home.
